Case Study: How FICO’s Technical Publications team got started with video production
There’s a common misconception that only professional video production companies can create effective videos. But, you don’t have to spend thousands of dollars to outsource your videos or spend months learning a complicated system. Technical writers can easily acquire video development skills to create compelling videos for their customers too.
Dan Ziagos describes how FICO’s Technical Publications team learned to develop effective how-to and product overview videos. With the availability of easy-to-use screen recording and video editing tools and the desire to learn new skills, this ability is within reach of all technical writers.
This presentation highlights the tools used to create these video tutorials, the processes the team developed to improve their video skills, and how these videos were integrated into FICO’s applications and their associated help systems. Finally, Dan illustrates how these new video skills have helped provide value for other FICO teams.
